http://fau.edu/galleriesFAU's Americas Initiative presents a day of art and ideas that poses the question “What does decolonization look like?” Starting at 10 a.m., there will be a walk-through of the "Imagining Florida: History and Myth in the Sunshine State" exhibition at the Boca Raton Museum of Art. This will include a breakfast reception.
The day continues from 1 to 5 p.m. at FAU. At 1 p.m. there will be a panel discussion, with a keynote lecture by Bree Newsome who gained renown by publicly removing the Confederate Flag from the South Carolina Statehouse. Newsome's lecture is titled "Tearing Hatred From the Sky." The other presentations are:

Following the panel, there will be a tour of the FAU exhibition "Decolonizing Refinement: Contemporary Pursuits in the Art of Edouard Duval-Carrié," followed by a reception. All events are free and open to the public. For more information call 561-297-2661.
