During the hackathon, student teams will use data from the All of Us Research Program, a large national health dataset, to design innovative solutions that support precision medicine and personalized healthcare.

Participants will explore challenges such as:

  • Managing massive and complex healthcare datasets
  • Designing tools and workflows for secure and efficient data use
  • Addressing fairness and bias in predictive health models
  • Developing scalable solutions for healthcare data analysis

How It Works

Students will work in teams of 3–5 participants to identify a challenge within the dataset and develop a proposed solution.

Teams may:

  • Build a software prototype
  • Design a data architecture or engineering workflow
  • Propose new methods, tools, or best practices for working with large healthcare datasets
  • At the conclusion of the hackathon, teams will present their solutions to a panel of judges, and top teams will receive prizes.

Judging Criteria

Projects will be evaluated based on:

  • Understanding of the problem and quality of insights
  • Alignment with personalized healthcare goals
  • Potential impact of the solution
  • Usability and practicality
  • Scalability and adaptability
