Frontiers in Science Lecture: How Artificial Intelligence is Changing the World

Join us for the fifth lecture in the Frontiers in Science Public Lecture Series, How Artificial Intelligence is Changing the World,” featuring  William Hahn, Ph.D., Assistant Professor at Charles E. Shmidt College of Science, Department of Mathematics

See the latest developments in artificial intelligence (AI) technology and how these new tools are changing science, education, and medicine. FAU is building a community centered initiative to bring AI to South Florida, called the Rubin and Cindy Gruber Sandbox. Learn about how FAU will be educating the next generation to prepare for the future of AI, and how you can get involved.

The 2020 FAU Frontiers in Science lecture series runs from Friday, January 17 through Wednesday, May 20. We have experts this season from a range of scientific disciplines who are coming to FAU to speak about: A.I. and machine learning, the geology of glaciers, the biology of extreme movement, ways mathematical modeling is changing the world, understanding the big bang, a look inside nanomachines, and more! Science Dean, Dr. Ata Sarajedini states, “My hope is that these lectures move you to deeper learning, explain your world, ignite your discussions, and bring the richness of the sciences to you.”
