Juniors and Seniors (60+ credits) of all majors are invited to attend the Government and Non-Profit Internship Fair and apply to paid internships with local Government and Non-Profit Agencies.
This fair is in partnership with a new Government and Non-Profit Internship Program that will be funded by Florida Atlantic University, where you may be able to gain experience, acquire skills highly sought by employers, network, and earn credits towards your degree completion. Please read the information below carefully.

Internship Guidelines & Details:
Internship Employers: Intern at a local government agency or non-profit organization.
Internship Function: All roles within government and non-profits.
Eligibility: Open to all juniors or seniors with 60+ completed credits. Current FAU student employees may not be eligible due to maximum hour limitations.
Compensation: $20/hour, up to 20 hours per week for a duration of 16 weeks.
Work Environment: On-site only — remote or hybrid arrangements are not permitted.
Academic Expectations: Students will be required to register for the Professional Internship course (IDS 3949) while completing the internship, earning anywhere between 0 and 4 credits for their experience, depending on the student’s interest and credit hour capacity.
Next Steps & Important Dates:
October 2025: Schedule an appointment or stop by the Career Center for Drop-In Career Coaching to ensure your resume looks professional and prepare for the Government & Non-Profit Organizations Career Fair.
November 6, 2025: Attend the upcoming Government & Non-Profit Organizations Career Fair on campus to network with participating organizations. For more information about the Career Fair and to register, please click here (add Handshake event link).
November 2025: Interview and secure internship.
December 2025: Finalize hiring and Human Resources arrangements.
Early January 2025: Attend a mandatory on-campus Training Internship Orientation by the Career Center on how to maximize the internship experience, proper etiquette and netiquette, networking, career tips, academic expectations, and Student Affairs resources. The training will include what to do before starting the internship, during the internship, and after the internship.
January 2025: Begin the internship.
