About this Event
COVID-19 has exposed the intersection of racism and healthcare in the United States as well as how chronic racist inequities have led to a disproportionate effect on Black/African Americans and Latinx people. Meanwhile, the protest movement that erupted after the murder of George Floyd has jumpstarted a global conversation about defunding social institutions and redirecting those funds towards healing communities. For Real Talk 5, a panel of healthcare professionals and scholars will discuss how racism impacts the health, in particular, that of Black/African American and Latinx people, the stress of Racial Battle Fatigue and microaggressions, the link between discrimination and depression in Black men, and much more.
