Directed by Pablo Pivetta & Nicolás Rodriguez Fuchs.

Facing the deterioration of machines and the advance of new technologies, traditional printers in Argentina are closing their workshops. At the same time, a group of young people rediscovers the greatest technical innovation in the history of the written word: printing from handset type. But it will be difficult for them to learn the trade since it has always been passed down from master to apprentice––and these young people are outsiders. The last graphic mechanic of the country will be in charge of teaching them. Will this ancient handcraft withstand the passage of time?

JCBA’s SELF DETERMINED ADMISSION CONCEPT

We’ve been using Self Determined Admission for events for over a decade. This means you decide what your admission is. If you decide your admission should be free, then so be it. In determining your admission, though, we ask you to consider your means, to consider what a typical night out at the movies costs, to consider how you’ll most likely never see a film like this in your neighborhood multiplex, and to consider what this particular experience means to you. Then decide what your admission should be. There will be a donation box at the gallery doors into which you may place your admission; it’s all by the honor system, and we make no judgements. If you don’t have cash, you can deposit a check into the box; checks should be made out to FAU FOUNDATION, referenced “JCBA Education Fund” on the memo line. You can also pay your admission with a credit card at the front desk; just ask any of our staff to assist you with that.

DIRECTIONS & PARKING
The Jaffe Center for Book Arts is located on the third floor east of Florida Atlantic University's Wimberly Library. From I-95 or the Florida Turnpike, exit Glades Road, east. The FAU campus is located just east of I-95. If you enter the campus at FAU's main entrance (the one furthest west on Glades Road... and the first one you get to approaching from I-95 or the turnpike), you will enter on West University Drive. Continue straight on West University Drive to the traffic light at its intersection with Volusia Street. Turn right onto Volusia Street. You will see a parking garage on Volusia Street, and the Wimberly Library is the next building east of the parking garage.

The brand new I-95 interchange for Florida Atlantic University (Exit 48A) takes you directly from the interstate to FAU. Once you pass the traffic light at Spanish River Boulevard, you are on the FAU campus on FAU Boulevard. Continue to the traffic signal at the intersection of FAU Boulevard and University Drive (FAU Stadium will be on your right). Turn right onto University Drive. Turn left at the traffic signal at Volusia Street. You will see a parking garage on Volusia Street, and the Wimberly Library is the next building east of the parking garage.

Visitor Parking is available at the metered spaces in the library parking lot; look for the spaces that have numbers posted on signs at the head of the parking space. The meter system accepts payment with cash or credit card at the rate of $2 per hour.
