Dantiel W. Moniz is a homegrown Floridian who is a Visiting Writer in Fall 19 at FAU. Her work has appeared in journals such as Tin House, Plougshares, McSweeney's Quarterly Concern, and Joyland, among others. She has received scholarships and residencies from Hedgebrook and the Elizabeth George Foundation and was selected as the winner of the 2018 Alice Hoffman Prize for Fiction. Her debut story collection, Milk Blood Heat is forthcoming from Grove Atlantic. She will read from her fiction and answer questions. The event is cosponsored by the University Center for Excellence in Writing as part of the National Day On Writing.
