The “Biennial Faculty Exhibition” in the Schmidt Gallery features the work of more than 20 FAU faculty members who continue their practice as producing professional artists. Participating artists include faculty from FAU’s Department of Visual Arts and Art History and the School of Communication and Multimedia Studies in the Dorothy F. Schmidt College of Arts and Letters; the School of Architecture in the College for Design and Social Inquiry; the Harriet L. Wilkes Honors College; and FAU Libraries. The exhibition presents works in a variety of media including drawing, painting, sculpture, installation, photography and digital media.
The “New Art Faculty Exhibition”in the Ritter Gallery presents five faculty members who recently joined FAU as tenure track faculty. The exhibition allows each artist to exhibit several works to introduce their visual art to art students, the University community, visual arts audience in the region and the general public. It features four artists from FAU’s Department of Visual Arts and Art History including painter Corey Lamb; printmaker Joseph Valasquez; graphic designer and multi-media artist Mehrdad Sedaghat; ceramic sculptor Thomas Stollar; and painter and animator “Topher” Maraffi who teaches in FAU’s School of Communication and Multimedia Studies.
