VIRTUAL WORKSHOP THURSDAY DECEMBER 3, 2020 6 PM TO 8 PM EASTERN STANDARD TIME FROM WHEREVER YOU ARE CLASS LIMIT: 15
A small collection of paper toys and gifts will be the focus of this virtual workshop. These include a flexagon, a spinner, and a magic wallet—all of them easily sent through the mail. Our focus will be on making models with commonly available materials that can later be adapted for use with a variety of papers and personalized content.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED
• Tablet or computer with internet connection
• Cardstock
• Scraps of mat board, heavy watercolor paper, or a cereal box
• Text weight or copy paper
• String or heavy thread or rubber bands
• Glue stick
• Scissors
• X-acto knife
• Cutting mat
• Awl or piercing tool
• Compass or something to trace a small circle
• Pencil, eraser
• Drawing tools, colored pencils, markers
• Sewing needle to fit thread (optional)
INSTRUCTOR
Stephanie Wolff works with paper, text, textile, and the book form, with projects that explore themes of weather, history, and rural life, among other topics. Her artists' books are held in public and private collections, have been exhibited in the United States and Germany, and won awards. As a longtime teacher of book arts, she enjoys sharing her knowledge from many years in bookbinding, conservation, and fine arts. She has been a Helen M.
