The heart of the class focuses on two poems each by Philip Freneau and Phillis Wheatley, two of the era’s most respected voices. We’ll close with Longfellow’s Paul Revere’s Ride, a stirring tribute that captures the spirit of 1776. Poems will be projected and read aloud, followed by engaging group discussions.
