Billions of galaxies exist within the universe, and our own Milky Way is just one. While astronomers know that galaxies began to form soon after the Big Bang, questions remain how they formed and grew. Ata Sarajedini, Ph.D., studies stars that vary in their brightness to better understand the galaxies’ formation and evolution, and answer questions regarding the age of the universe.

Join Sarajedini as he discusses:
• Techniques to study stars trillions of miles away
• The role of stars in galaxy formation
• Galaxies today compared to those observed by the Hubble Space Telescope
